Recently the average age of the society became higher through the rise in numbers of older people.

How to deal with the aged people is now becoming an important issue to be discussed. Also, the increasing entry of women into public affairs causes the a weakened system of care for the older people. The number of old people suffering from the various elderly diseases increases but medical institutes to care for their life-qualities are seriously insufficient.

St. Luke medical center is for those who suffer from the serious diseases, such as palsy, dementia, and cancer in the terminal stage and etc. Furthermore, aged people can find their lives and belong to the community for the elderly, called Village for the elderly. Village for the Elderly is not only for treatment to cure the diseases but also for recovery of the whole body and sustaining a healthy life through physical therapy and movement treatment.

St. Luke Medical Center intends to heal the body as well as the mentality. For this it is operated with diverse educational and counseling programs in the village. Through relationships of teaching and learning among others, people are healed from sickness in their hearts and helped to live actively. Additionally, the final goal of Village for the Elderly by St. Luke Medical Center is to recover the spiritual strengths through the Bible study and counseling by a minister.
